A tale of 2 Roberts
Cult New York street label Psycho Bunny, conceived by Brit Robert Godley and longtime friend and tie maker Robert Goldman, launches in to the UK market debuting exclusively at menswear mecca Harvey Nichols for AW15.
Coupling refined English tailoring with bold American design, clothing and accessories all feature the instantly recognisable long-eared crossbone-wielding rabbit, boasting similar emblematic authority as the great Comme des Garçons heart.
Dipping their toes in the water with ties initially back in 2005, Godley used his considerable experience as a fashion designer, gleaned by stints at Turnbull and Asser, Drakes and then Ralph Lauren to expand its repertoire and with key industry influencer Goldman by his side, the pair went about shaping it in to more of a lifestyle brand.
I would have to agree with Godley, when he remarked:
“When someone puts on a Psycho Bunny polo they feel the exceptional quality, the passionate emotional connection to living and dressing with a sense of adventure and original style.”
Add remarkable cut and fit to that equation, ‘trim not slim’ as they themselves put it, it’s the finest fitting polo I’ve ever worn and does wonders for my silhouette, with its svelte-yielding qualities.
Psycho Bunny’s signature polo shirt is made of premium 100% Pima cotton, with taped seams and a signature side vent ensuring a crisp and clean-lined fit. Additional luxe details include mother-of-pearl buttons and intricately embroidered logos. What I love even more is Pyscho Bunny’s guarantee that over time the polo will maintain its shape, wash after wash, and not become loose or ill-fitting. That’s music to mine and my follower’s ears I’m sure.
